Product Details

Chint CJ19-43 is a capacitor-duty AC contactor designed for switching low-voltage shunt capacitors in power factor correction (PFC) systems. With a 43A rating and integrated surge suppression, it safely handles high inrush currents during capacitor switching and supports reliable reactive power compensation up to 20 kVAr.

Key Features

  • 3-pole capacitor contactor for low-voltage power factor correction

  • Conventional thermal current 43A with 3 NO main contacts

  • Controllable capacitor: approx. 10 kVAr at 230V and 20 kVAr at 400V

  • Integrated surge suppressor to limit inrush current and over-voltage

  • Rated operational voltage up to 690V AC, 50/60 Hz

  • Rated insulation voltage typically up to 500/690 V

  • High mechanical life up to 1,000,000 operating cycles

  • Electrical life up to 100,000 switching cycles under capacitor duty

  • Multiple coil voltage options (110V, 220V, 230V, 380V AC; model-dependent)

  • Auxiliary contact options (e.g. 2NC, 1NO+1NC, 2NO) for control and signalling

  • DIN rail or bolt mounting for easy integration in PFC panels

  • Conforms to IEC 60947-4-1 and CE requirements

  • Robust design suitable for -5°C to +40°C and installation up to 2000 m altitude

FAQ

Q1. What is the main application of the Chint CJ19-43 contactor?
A1. The CJ19-43 is designed for switching low-voltage shunt capacitors in power factor correction (PFC) systems, not for standard motor control.

Q2. What capacitor sizes can CJ19-43 control?
A2. Typical ratings are approx. 10 kVAr at 230V and 20 kVAr at 400V. The actual selection should consider system voltage, harmonics, and capacitor manufacturer guidelines.

Q3. Why is surge suppression important in capacitor contactors?
A3. Capacitor switching produces high inrush currents. The built-in surge suppressor in CJ19-43 limits inrush and overvoltage, protecting both capacitors and the contactor and increasing service life.

Q4. What coil voltages are available for CJ19-43?
A4. The series is available with various AC coil voltages, such as 110V, 220V, 230V, and 380V, depending on the sub-model (e.g., CJ19-43/02, CJ19-43/11, CJ19-43/20).

Q5. What auxiliary contact options are offered?
A5. Different sub-models provide auxiliary combinations like 2NC, 1NO+1NC, or 2NO to suit different indication and interlock schemes.

Q6. Can CJ19-43 be mounted on a DIN rail?
A6. Yes. It supports DIN rail or bolt-on panel mounting, making it easy to integrate into APFC panels and distribution boards.
