FAQ

Q1. What is the main application of the Chint CJ19-95 contactor?
A1. The CJ19-95 is designed for switching low-voltage shunt capacitors in power factor correction systems and is not meant for standard motor starter duty.

Q2. What capacitor ratings can the CJ19-95 handle?
A2. Typical ratings are 22.5 kVAr at 230V and 50 kVAr at 400V, making it suitable for higher kVAr steps in APFC panels, subject to system conditions and capacitor specifications.

Q3. Why is a capacitor-duty contactor required instead of a normal contactor?
A3. Capacitor switching causes very high inrush currents and transients. The CJ19-95 has built-in surge suppression (current-limiting components) to protect both capacitors and contactor contacts, extending service life.

Q4. Which coil voltages are available?
A4. The CJ19-95 is available with several AC coil voltages, including 110V, 220V, 230V, 380V, 415V, and 440V. You must specify the required coil voltage while ordering.

Q5. What auxiliary contact options are available?
A5. Typical variants include CJ19-95/21 (2NO+1NC) and CJ19-95/12 (1NO+2NC), allowing flexible indication, interlocking, and APFC controller feedback.

Q6. How is the CJ19-95 mounted in a panel?
A6. It can be mounted using screws on a backplate or on a 35 mm / 75 mm DIN rail, providing flexibility for panel layout and retrofits.
