A. Product Overview
The External Top Mount DIN Connector Level Switch is a compact top mounted liquid level switch used for detecting and controlling liquid levels in tanks and reservoirs. It is designed with a stainless steel stem and float options in SS 316L, Nylon and Polypropylene, depending on the application requirement.
This level switch comes with an easy DIN 43650 connector for quick electrical termination and convenient maintenance. The mounting is available with 1 inch BSP male plug, and customized options such as 1 and 1/2 inch BSP, flange and TC fitting can also be provided as per tank design.
The switch can be used for single point level detection and can be customized for different insertion depths and switching points. It is suitable for industrial applications where reliable level sensing, compact construction and easy installation are required.
B. Working Principle
The External Top Mount DIN Connector Level Switch works on the magnetic float and reed switch principle.
A float moves up and down with the liquid level inside the tank. As the liquid level rises or falls, the float moves along the stainless steel stem. Inside the stem, a reed switch is positioned at the required switching point. When the magnetic float reaches that point, the magnet inside the float activates the reed switch and changes the electrical contact status.
The switching action can be configured as normally open and normally closed by selecting the correct float orientation during installation. This allows the same level switch to be used for high level detection, low level detection, pump control, alarm indication and tank level protection.
C. Why It Is Used
This level switch is used to provide accurate and dependable liquid level detection in tanks where compact top mounting and easy wiring are required. It helps automate level monitoring and prevents manual checking of liquid levels.
It is mainly used for:
High level alarm in tanks
Low level alarm in tanks
Pump dry run protection
Overflow prevention
Oil level monitoring
Liquid level control in machinery
Tank automation and process control
Single point and customized level switching
The DIN connector makes wiring simple and service-friendly, while the stainless steel and engineering plastic float options make it suitable for different liquid types and operating conditions.
