A. Product Overview
The Flange Mount Level Switch Series is an industrial liquid level switch used for detecting and controlling liquid levels in tanks, vessels and process equipment. This design is flange mounted, which makes installation simple and secure. Since the switch is mounted through a flange, it does not depend heavily on the tank size and can be used in both compact and large tanks.
The switch is available with SS304 and SS316 stem and float material, making it suitable for water, hot water, industrial liquids and selected chemical applications. It is commonly used in sterilizers, water boilers, pressure vessels and industrial washing machines where reliable level detection is required.
The product can be manufactured with different flange sizes, process connections and switching specifications according to site requirements. For chemical fluids, material compatibility should be checked before final selection.
B. Working Principle
The flange mount level switch works on a float operated magnetic switching principle. A stainless steel float moves up and down with the liquid level. Inside the stem, a reed switch or switching element is positioned at the required level point.
When the liquid level rises or falls, the float moves with the liquid surface. As the float reaches the preset switching point, the internal magnetic mechanism activates the switch contact. This signal can be used for pump control, high level alarm, low level alarm, tank filling control or process safety interlock.
The switch can be supplied with contact options such as SPST Normally Open, SPDT Normally Open Common Normally Closed, depending on the control requirement.
C. Why It Is Used
Flange mount level switches are used where reliable and mechanical level detection is required in industrial tanks and vessels. They are preferred because they are simple, durable and suitable for tough process conditions.
Main uses include:
Preventing tank overflow by giving a high level signal
Protecting pumps from dry run by detecting low level
Maintaining required liquid level in boilers and process tanks
Providing level indication in pressure vessels and sterilizers
Controlling filling and emptying operations in industrial machines
Giving a reliable switching output without complex electronics
This type of switch is useful where the tank requires a strong mounting arrangement, high mechanical stability and stainless steel wetted parts.

FAQ
1. What is a flange mount level switch?
A flange mount level switch is a float operated level switch installed on a tank or vessel using a flange connection. It detects liquid level and provides an electrical switching signal for control or alarm purposes.
2. Where can this flange mount level switch be used?
It can be used in sterilizers, water boilers, pressure vessels, industrial washing machines, process tanks, storage tanks and industrial liquid level control systems.
3. Is this level switch suitable for pressure vessels?
Yes, this design is suitable for pressure vessels and large tanks. The flange mounting provides stable installation and the switch can be manufactured as per process requirement.
4. What material is used in this level switch?
The stem and float are available in SS304 and SS316. SS316 is generally preferred for better corrosion resistance in industrial and selected chemical applications.
5. Can the flange size be customized?
Yes, different flange sizes can be manufactured as per application, tank design and site mounting requirement.
6. What is the maximum temperature range of this switch?
The standard temperature range is minus 40 degrees Celsius to 150 degrees Celsius.
7. What switching output is available?
The switch can be supplied with SPST Normally Open and SPDT Normally Open Common Normally Closed contact options.
8. Can this switch be used for chemical liquids?
It can be used for selected chemical liquids, but chemical compatibility must be checked with the wetted parts, float material, gasket material and process conditions before selection.
9. What is the pressure rating of this flange mount level switch?
The standard maximum operating pressure is up to 5 Bar.
10. Why choose a flange mounted level switch instead of a threaded type level switch?
A flange mounted level switch is preferred for pressure vessels, large tanks and applications where a stronger mounting connection is required. It is also useful when custom mounting and process connection requirements are needed.
