A. Product Overview
The Handheld Digital Temperature Indicator is a compact and portable temperature measuring device used to check temperature directly at site. It supports multiple sensor input types such as K type thermocouple, J type thermocouple and RTD Pt100.
This instrument is suitable for applications where users need quick and reliable temperature readings without installing a fixed temperature controller or panel meter. It can be used with different probe sizes, wire lengths and junction types based on the application requirement.
Key Specifications
Type: K, J and RTD Pt100
Temperature Range: -50 to 1000°C

B. Working Principle
The handheld digital temperature indicator works by receiving a signal from a temperature sensor such as a thermocouple or RTD.
In a thermocouple sensor, two different metal wires are joined at the sensing end. When this junction is heated or cooled, it generates a small voltage. The handheld indicator reads this signal and converts it into a temperature value.
In an RTD Pt100 sensor, the resistance of the sensor changes with temperature. The indicator measures this resistance change and displays the temperature reading on the digital screen.
The probe is placed in contact with the object, machine part, air stream, liquid surface or process area where temperature needs to be measured. The instrument then shows the live temperature reading on its display.
C. Why It Is Used
Handheld digital thermometers are used because they are portable, easy to operate and suitable for quick temperature checking in different locations.
They are useful when a fixed temperature sensor is not available or when the user wants to verify temperature manually during inspection, maintenance or testing.
Main Uses
To check temperature during industrial maintenance
To measure furnace, oven and heater temperature
To inspect HVAC systems and air handling units
To verify process temperature in production areas
To test temperature in laboratories and quality control departments
To check machinery, automotive and equipment temperature
To support calibration and troubleshooting work
To take field temperature readings without permanent installation
Grounded junction probes are generally used where fast response is required. Ungrounded junction probes are preferred where electrical isolation and stable readings are important.

FAQ
1. What is a handheld digital temperature indicator?
A handheld digital temperature indicator is a portable device used to measure temperature with the help of a thermocouple or RTD sensor. It displays the temperature reading directly on a digital screen.
2. Which sensor inputs are supported in this model?
This model supports K type thermocouple, J type thermocouple and RTD Pt100 sensor input options.
3. What is the temperature range of this handheld thermometer?
The temperature range is -50 to 1000°C, depending on the sensor type, probe construction and application condition.
4. Where is this temperature indicator commonly used?
It is commonly used in HVAC, furnace, oven, laboratory, industrial maintenance, process plants, quality control, automotive and field inspection applications.
5. What probe sizes are available?
Probe diameter options are 6 to 12 mm. Probe length options include 100 mm, 200 mm and 250 mm.
6. What wire length options are available?
Available wire length options are 0.5 meter, 1 meter, 1.5 meter and 2 meter.
7. What is the difference between grounded and ungrounded junction?
A grounded junction gives faster temperature response because the sensor junction is connected to the probe sheath. An ungrounded junction provides better electrical isolation and is useful where electrical noise or interference may affect readings.
8. Is this product suitable for furnace temperature checking?
Yes, it can be used for furnace and oven temperature checking when selected with the correct thermocouple type, probe material and temperature range.
9. Can it be used for laboratory temperature measurement?
Yes, handheld digital temperature indicators are suitable for laboratory testing, research, calibration support and general temperature checking.
10. Who should buy this product?
This product is suitable for maintenance teams, HVAC technicians, instrumentation engineers, quality control departments, process industries, laboratory users and industrial service providers.
