A. Product Overview
The Internal Side Mount Level Switch Series is designed for reliable liquid level monitoring inside tanks and vessels. Unlike long top mounted float switches, this design is compact and does not depend on the overall tank height. It is mounted from the side wall of the tank and uses a stainless steel float with magnetic switching technology to detect liquid level.
This switch is available in SS304 and SS316 material options, making it suitable for water, hot water, mild chemicals, food grade equipment, boilers, cleaning tanks, and industrial liquid applications. The switch can be supplied with SPST or SPDT switching output, and the switching specifications are set during manufacturing as per the customer requirement.
The series is available with standard and customizable options such as stem length, float size, process connection, switching point, cable length, gasket material, and electrical rating. It is a practical solution for compact tanks where a small side mounted level switch is required.
B. Working Principle
The Internal Side Mount Level Switch works on the magnetic float principle. A float moves up or down according to the liquid level inside the tank. As the liquid level rises, the float also rises and activates the internal magnetic reed switch. When the liquid level falls, the float moves back and changes the switch position.
This change in switching position can be used to control pumps, alarms, solenoid valves, heaters, or control panels. Depending on the requirement, the switch can be configured as normally open or normally closed during manufacturing.
In simple terms, when the tank reaches a selected level, the float triggers the switch and sends an electrical signal to the connected control system.
C. Why It Is Used
The Internal Side Mount Level Switch is used where accurate and dependable liquid level switching is required in compact tanks or equipment. It helps prevent overflow, dry running, heater damage, pump failure, and unsafe liquid level conditions.
It is especially useful because it is easy to install, compact in size, and suitable for tanks where vertical space is limited. The internal side mounting design allows the switch to be fitted directly into the tank wall, making it ideal for boilers, sterilizers, industrial cleaning machines, and kitchen equipment.
Key uses include:
Liquid level detection in tanks
High level and low level control
Pump protection
Overflow prevention

FAQ
1. What is an Internal Side Mount Level Switch?
An Internal Side Mount Level Switch is a compact float type switch installed from the side of a tank to detect liquid level. It is used for high level, low level, pump control, overflow protection, and equipment safety.
2. Where is this level switch commonly used?
It is commonly used in sterilizers, water boilers, industrial cleaning tanks, kitchen equipment, compact process tanks, and small liquid storage vessels.
3. Is this switch suitable for hot water applications?
Yes, the switch is suitable for hot water applications. The standard temperature range is from minus 40 degree Celsius to 135 degree Celsius, depending on application conditions and selected material.
4. Which materials are available in this switch?
The stem and float are available in SS304 and SS316. SS316 is preferred for better corrosion resistance and industrial liquid applications.
5. What is the standard length of this switch?
The standard total length is 100 mm. Custom lengths can also be supplied based on tank design and application requirements.
6. Can the float size be customized?
Yes, the float size can be customized. The standard float size is 28 mm by 42 mm.
7. What type of switching output is available?
The switch is available with SPST and SPDT switching options. Normally open and normally closed configurations can be set as per requirement.
8. What is the maximum operating pressure?
The maximum operating pressure is up to 4 bar.
9. What is the process connection available?
The standard process connection is one fourth inch BSP inverted male plug. Custom process connections such as M16, one inch BSP, and TC fitting can also be provided.
10. Can this switch be used for pump control?
Yes, it can be used for pump control, tank filling control, overflow prevention, and low level protection.
11. Is this switch suitable for chemical tanks?
It can be used for compatible chemical tanks depending on the liquid, temperature, pressure, and selected material. SS316 is generally preferred for better chemical resistance.
12. Can the cable length be customized?
Yes, the standard cable termination is one meter long two core Teflon cable with protection sleeve. Longer cable lengths can be supplied on request.
13. What gasket material is available?
The switch can be supplied with Teflon gasket or silicone gasket depending on application compatibility.
14. Is this switch suitable for OEM equipment manufacturers?
Yes, this switch is ideal for OEM equipment manufacturers because it is compact, customizable, easy to install, and suitable for small tanks and machines.
15. Why should I use an internal side mounted level switch instead of a top mounted switch?
An internal side mounted level switch is useful when the tank has limited height or when the level sensing point is fixed near the side wall. It is compact, easy to mount, and does not require a long stem from the top of the tank.
