Product Details

A. Product Overview
This Universal Head-Mount Temperature Transmitter (Form-B) is designed to convert multiple temperature and signal inputs into a standard 2-wire 4–20 mA output. It is used where a stable current loop signal is required for industrial monitoring and control systems. The transmitter supports RTD, thermocouple, resistance and mV inputs, and can be configured using a PC. For thermocouple measurement, it includes built-in cold junction compensation. The compact head-mount form factor allows installation inside a connection head, helping standardize wiring and output signals in field temperature measurement points.

B. Working Principle
The transmitter accepts a sensor signal (RTD, thermocouple, resistance, or mV) and processes it electronically to produce a linear 4–20 mA output proportional to the measured value over the configured range. For thermocouples, the transmitter uses cold junction compensation to correct for reference junction effects. The device is configured by PC to select input type and measurement range. In a 2-wire loop, the same pair of wires carries both the power supply and the 4–20 mA signal to the receiving instrument or control system.

C. Key Applications (Bulleted)

  • Converting RTD or thermocouple signals to 4–20 mA for temperature indication and control

  • Head-mounted installation inside sensor connection heads (Form-B)

  • Industrial loops requiring 2-wire 4–20 mA signal transmission to panel meters and automation systems

  • Applications using Pt100, Cu50, or standard thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, N, R, S, T) within listed ranges

D. Why Industries Use This Product
Industries use head-mount transmitters to standardize different sensor signals into a single widely accepted output format (4–20 mA). This simplifies wiring and makes it easier to connect field temperature points to monitoring and control systems. The transmitter provides defined alarm behavior for sensor damage or sensor disconnection (3.9 mA or 22 mA, except TC), helping maintenance teams detect faults in the loop. With response time up to 1 second and stated accuracy of 0.1% FS, it supports stable signal conversion for industrial measurement requirements.

E. Suitable Buyers

  • OEMs integrating temperature measurement points in machines and skids using head-mounted assemblies

  • EPC contractors standardizing temperature signal outputs in plant installations

  • Maintenance and utilities teams commonly using it for replacement where existing loops use 4–20 mA

  • Plant engineering and procurement teams preferring standardized installations and retrofit projects using Form-B head-mounted transmitters

FAQ SECTION

1.What input sensors are supported by this head-mount temperature transmitter?
It supports RTD and thermocouple inputs, as well as resistance and mV signal inputs. RTD options include Pt100 and Cu50, and thermocouple types include B, E, J, K, N, R, S, and T. The input type is selectable by PC configuration.

2.What output signal does the transmitter provide and how is it wired?
The transmitter provides a 2-wire 4–20 mA output. In a 2-wire loop, the device is powered from the loop supply and transmits the 4–20 mA signal over the same two conductors to the receiving instrument or system.

3.What are the listed ranges for RTD and thermocouple types?
Pt100 range is -200 to 850°C and Cu50 is -50 to 150°C. Thermocouple ranges are specified per type, including K from -180 to 1372°C and B from 400 to 1820°C, along with E, J, N, R, S, and T ranges as per the range configuration table.

4.What happens if the sensor is damaged or disconnected?
The transmitter provides an alarm current output when the sensor is damaged or turned off. The output becomes 3.9 mA or 22 mA depending on the alarm direction, except for thermocouple inputs.

5.What are the accuracy and response time of this transmitter?
Accuracy is 0.1% of full scale and response time is less than or equal to 1 second. Measuring accuracy is related to the configured measuring range.

6.What environmental and protection ratings are listed?
Working temperature is -40 to 85°C and storage temperature is -40 to 100°C. Protection is IP00 and IP66 when mounted.
