B. Working Principle
The Baumer AL Pressure Gauge works on the Bourdon tube pressure measurement principle. When pressure enters the gauge through the process connection, the pressure acts on the internal stainless steel sensing element.
As the pressure increases, the sensing element changes its shape slightly. This mechanical movement is transferred through an internal movement mechanism to the pointer. The pointer moves over the calibrated dial and displays the pressure reading.
For vacuum applications, the gauge measures pressure below atmospheric pressure in the -1 to 0 bar range. For positive pressure applications, it can measure pressure up to 1600 bar, depending on the selected pressure range.
Since it is a mechanical analog pressure gauge, it does not require external power supply for local pressure indication.
C. Why It Is Used
The Baumer AL Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Pressure Gauge is used to monitor pressure in industrial systems where reliability, accuracy and strong construction are important. It helps plant operators and maintenance teams check whether pressure is within the safe operating range.
It is mainly used because:
It supports both vacuum and high pressure measurement.
It is available up to 1600 bar for demanding industrial applications.
The stainless steel case provides durability in harsh environments.
The AISI 316L stainless steel sensing element improves media compatibility.
The large dial sizes provide clear pressure reading from a distance.
The bayonet type case gives strong mechanical protection.
The IP65 protection class helps protect the gauge from dust and water ingress.
Optional IP66, IP67 and IP68 protection makes it suitable for tougher environments.
Optional accuracy class 0.5 is useful for more precise pressure monitoring.
IBR and CE approvals make it suitable for selected certified industrial applications.
The gauge follows EN 837-1 and ASME B40.100 reference standards.
