A. Product Overview
The Baumer BV series is a stainless steel Bourdon type pressure gauge developed for general industrial pressure monitoring where durability, accuracy and cost effective performance are required. It is designed with a stainless steel case and measuring system, welded socket and case construction, and IP65 protection for better resistance against dust and water ingress.
The BV series is available in 100 mm and 150 mm nominal sizes. It uses an AISI 304 stainless steel bayonet type case and ring, AISI 316L stainless steel Bourdon tube, AISI 304 stainless steel socket and AISI 304 stainless steel movement. The gauge offers an accuracy of ±1.6 percent of full scale and can be used with process temperatures up to 200 degree C.
This pressure gauge is suitable for clean air, non corrosive gases and non corrosive liquid media that do not block the pressure system. It is commonly selected for process equipment, pneumatic systems, hydraulic lines, utility lines, compressors and general machinery pressure indication.
B. Working Principle
The Baumer BV series works on the Bourdon tube principle. Inside the gauge, pressure enters through the process connection and reaches the curved Bourdon tube. When pressure increases, the Bourdon tube tends to straighten slightly. This movement is transferred through a mechanical movement system to the pointer on the dial.
As the pressure changes, the pointer moves across the scale and shows the pressure reading in kg/cm² and psi. When pressure is reduced, the Bourdon tube returns toward its original shape and the pointer moves back accordingly. This simple mechanical working principle makes the BV series suitable for direct pressure indication without external power supply.
C. Why It Is Used
The Baumer BV series pressure gauge is used to monitor and display pressure in industrial systems where continuous visual pressure indication is needed. It helps operators check whether pressure is within the safe and required operating range.
It is used because it offers stainless steel construction, IP65 protection, ±1.6 percent full scale accuracy and a wide selection of pressure ranges. The welded socket and case construction improves reliability, while the AISI 316L stainless steel Bourdon tube provides compatibility with clean air and non corrosive gas or liquid media.
This gauge is useful for preventing over pressure conditions, identifying pressure drops, supporting equipment safety and improving process monitoring in daily industrial operations.
