B. Working Principle
AC Current Measurement
The Fluke 301B measures AC current through the clamp jaw. When the jaw is positioned around a single current-carrying conductor, the meter senses the magnetic field generated by the alternating current and converts it into a current reading.
The circuit does not normally need to be disconnected for clamp-current measurement. Only one conductor should be enclosed inside the jaw for accurate measurement.
AC and DC Voltage Measurement
For voltage testing, the black test lead is connected to the COM terminal and the red test lead is connected to the voltage and resistance input terminal. The probes are then placed across the required circuit or test points.
