A. Product Overview
The COSMIC+ MS+101U Online UPS is an industrial-grade uninterruptible power supply designed to provide clean, stable and continuous power to sensitive electrical and electronic equipment.
The model is available in ratings from 5 kVA to 15 kVA and uses a single-phase input and single-phase output configuration. Its DSP-based control system and IGBT switching double-conversion technology help regulate the output voltage and isolate connected equipment from common electrical supply problems.
The UPS accepts a rated input of 230 V AC with a tolerance of plus or minus 10 percent and provides a regulated 230 V AC output with plus or minus 1 percent regulation. It delivers a PWM sine wave output with less than 3 percent total harmonic distortion and an inverter efficiency of more than 93 percent.

B. Working Principle
The COSMIC+ MS+101U operates using an online double-conversion process.
First, the incoming single-phase AC supply is converted into DC power. This DC power supports the inverter and charges the connected battery bank. The inverter then converts the DC power back into a regulated single-phase AC output for the connected equipment.
Because the load is powered through the inverter during normal operation, the UPS helps protect the equipment from voltage fluctuations, brownouts, surges, electrical disturbances and complete mains failure.
When the mains supply fails or moves outside the acceptable operating range, the battery bank continues supplying DC power to the inverter. The inverter then maintains AC power to the connected load according to the available battery capacity and load requirement.
The system uses DSP control and IGBT switching to regulate its output. Its rated output is 230 V AC with plus or minus 1 percent regulation, while the output frequency stability is specified as 50 Hz with plus or minus 0.1 Hz.
C. Why It Is Used
The COSMIC+ MS+101U Online UPS is used to protect critical equipment from interruptions and disturbances in the main electrical supply.
Continuous Power Support
It helps keep essential equipment operating during mains failure by drawing power from the connected battery bank.
Voltage Regulation
The UPS provides a regulated 230 V AC output, helping protect connected loads from input voltage variations.
Protection of Sensitive Equipment
Industrial controllers, servers, laboratory instruments, communication systems and medical equipment can be affected by unstable voltage, electrical noise and sudden power loss. The UPS provides a controlled power supply for such equipment.
Reduced Operational Disruption
Unexpected shutdowns can interrupt manufacturing, data processing, communication and testing activities. An online UPS helps reduce interruptions caused by unreliable power.
Electrical Isolation
The inbuilt isolation transformer helps provide electrical separation between the incoming power supply and the connected load.
System Monitoring
The digital display provides information about input and output voltage, load level, battery level, DC voltage, frequency and system faults.
Remote Communication
An SNMP communication port is available on request, allowing compatible monitoring systems to supervise the UPS remotely.
Equipment Protection
The MS+101U includes protection against output overload, short circuit, output under-voltage, output over-voltage, DC under-voltage, DC over-voltage, mains under-voltage, mains over-voltage and mains single phasing.
