A. Product Overview
Miniature Small Mini Head RTD Sensor is a compact and space-saving temperature sensor used for industrial and equipment temperature measurement. The small head design makes it suitable for applications where installation space is limited or where the sensor needs to be mounted in a tight area.
This sensor is commonly available in Pt100, J Type and K Type options, with simplex and duplex configurations. It can be supplied with probe diameter options such as 4 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm and 8 mm, and probe lengths from 25 mm to 300 mm. The sheath material options include SS304, SS316 and SS316L, depending on the application requirement.
The sensor is suitable for temperature ranges such as -50 to 500°C, 0 to 600°C and 0 to 1200°C, depending on the selected sensing element and construction. It is available with Class A or Class B accuracy as per IEC-60751 for RTD options.
B. Working Principle
The Miniature Small Mini Head RTD Sensor works by using a temperature-sensitive sensing element. In the Pt100 RTD version, the sensing element is made of platinum and has a resistance of 100 ohms at 0°C.
When temperature changes, the resistance of the platinum element also changes in a predictable manner. This resistance change is measured by a temperature indicator, controller, transmitter or PLC and converted into a temperature reading.
The compact head protects the terminal connection, while the stainless steel sheath protects the sensing element from mechanical damage, process media and environmental conditions. In applications where space is limited, the mini head design allows easy installation without compromising measurement accuracy.
C. Why It Is Used
Miniature Small Mini Head RTD Sensor is used when accurate temperature measurement is required in compact or restricted spaces. Standard temperature sensors with large heads may not fit properly in small machines, equipment, pipelines or compact assemblies.
It is used because it offers:
Compact and space-saving design
Accurate temperature measurement
Easy installation in tight spaces
Reliable performance in industrial applications
Stainless steel sheath options for durability
Simplex and duplex options for different measurement needs
Suitable construction for HVAC, machinery, automotive and medical equipment
This sensor is especially useful where the customer needs a small-size temperature sensor without sacrificing stability and reliability.
